Accounts Receivable

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley is looking for an experienced accounts receivable specialist in the business office located in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Follows up on submitted claims, monitors unpaid claims and resubmits claims with appropriate corrections and documentation for multiple specialties and places of service
  • Works payor denials/rejections and processes appeals accordingly
  • Responds to patient and third-party inquiries, researches and resolves complex claims and corrects errors
  • May transfer secondary balances to appropriate financial class and provide documentation for processing the claims
  • Reviews, works and clears electronic and claims edits daily; summarizes and forwards non-workable edits to supervisor for resolution
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA and Federal Payer guidelines and regulations
  • Provides customer service to Front-Ends and patients
  • Requires communication with front end and providers to request diagnosis or other data from physicians when not recorded in documentation, or if information is incomplete.
  • Participate in various AR related projects
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to work independently and/or minimal supervision with further abilities to manage multiple, changing priorities

Reconciliation Representative

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced Reconciliation Representative for our Central Billing Office. The Reconciliation Representative will be part of the Revenue Cycle Team and will ensure that payments are posted, reconciled, and reported accurately for all professional billing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reviewing, posting and adjusting patient accounts
  • Communicating via phone and email with Health Insurance providers
  • Forwarding rejection or incorrect payment information to the Accounts Receivable Representative for research and/or resolution
  • Reporting any variances on the monthly reconciliation and work to solve any issues, as appropriate, under the supervision of the Reconciliation Supervisor;
  • Performing other special projects and duties as assigned.

Office Manager - Full Time

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced Medical Office Manager for multiple offices located throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.
The Office Manager will ensure an effective patient/office flow. He/she will support and uphold established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Oversees daily office operations
  • Implementing and enforcing office policies and procedures

Medical Assistant (Certified) - Full Time

Medical Billing Coder - Full Time

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley is looking for an experienced Medical Billing Coder in the business office located in Yorktown Heights, NY.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reviews and examines medical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10 or CPT-4 code. Specialties and places of service vary
  • Requires communication with front end and providers to request diagnosis or other data from physicians when not recorded in documentation, or if information is incomplete
  • Determines correct sequence of primary and secondary diagnoses per uniform coding guidelines
  • Abstracts all surgical and designated diagnostic procedures and assigns appropriate procedure codes and modifiers using the ICD-10 system and CPT-4
  • Applies knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and modifiers to all physician coding and billing assignments
  • Answers coding questions from staff and identifies and corrects errors as needed
  • Interacts with physicians and peers face-to-face, by telephone, and in writing in a professional and productive manner
  • Stays current on coding and compliance regulatory requirements through professional membership literature, continuing education classes, support and networking groups
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements by CMS NCCI and MUE edits, policies, and certain Medicare requirements
  • Analyzes and evaluates data with reference to standards and considers alternatives
  • Attends in-services related to coding problems

Training & Support Specialist - Full Time

The Training and Support Specialist is a multi-tasking position that consists of providing education, training and support on EMR software to the Organization's staff, associated with physician services. He/she will work closely, acting as a resource to the Providers, Clinical Staff, Clerical Staff, Practice Mangers, Billing Supervisors and the Central Billing Office to enhance performance improvement and provide continuing education to achieve organizational goals.

  • Assistance in supporting the daily operational needs of the Training and Support Department with strong oral, written and analytical skills

Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant (Certified) - Full Time

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley is looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant in our Ophthalmology office located in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Candidate Must Be Certified

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Initiating documentation of the patient's chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems and all pertinent ocular findings accurately
  • Perform testing to include visual acuity measurement, color vision testing, lensometry, keratometry, testing pupil function, tonometry, and all other patient services as requested by the Ophthalmologist
  • Administer ophthalmic and oral medications at the direction of the physician
  • Triage patient telephone calls
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures or laser treatments in the office
  • Maintain inventory and assist in ordering supplies
  • Maintain surgical instruments in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Remove and apply dressings as directed
  • Refract patients
  • Perform automated and non-automated perimetry, OCT, Orbscan Corneal Topography, fundus photograph, A-scans, and ophthalmic photography
  • Open and close exam lanes daily
  • Ensure that equipment is cleaned and disinfected appropriately

Revenue Cycle Credentialing/Medical Billing Specialist - Full Time

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley is looking for an experienced Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Credentialing Specialist in the business office located in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot claims that are returned or rejected in a timely manner
  • Assist with credentialing matters to ensure smooth claims submission process
  • Communicate credentialing issues to supervisor or other management personnel and make recommendations regarding changes to credentialing processes
  • Prepare provide packets and or signature packets
  • Scan all documents and applications into the reviewed system
  • Respond to written, electronic and verbal inquiries in a timely manner
  • Review and resolve rejections and denials related to provider enrollments issues
  • Maintain payer issues trackers and communicate ongoing issue status and resolutions to interested parties, escalates issues as needed
  • Identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies and ensures appropriate follow-up

Site Manager - Full Time

The Site Manager will be responsible for the physical locations and operational functions of each office. They are the primary point of contact for Office Managers. Facilitating and coordinating all activities for the various office locations. The Site Manager will report to NYPMG HV Director, Practice Operations.
