Inguinal Laparoscopy
is a procedure performed during the repair of a hernia in males. A laparoscope is placed into a small opening through the sac of the symptomatic hernia and used to look directly at the other side to determine the presence of a second hernia, which occur in more than 30% of cases. This approach enables us to avoid open surgical exploration in approximately 65% of patients.
