The incidence of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been on the rise, with more children today being diagnosed with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis than ever before. If not properly managed, pediatric IBD can impede a child's growth and development and impair quality of life. The Pediatric IBD Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health at Weill Cornell Medical Center is one of only a few such programs in the country, and features specialists who provide compassionate and personalized care for children and adolescents with IBD.
Patient care is coordinated with other pediatric specialists at the Center for Advanced Digestive Care (CADC) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. Moreover, we understand that the needs of a child with IBD affect the entire family. We work closely with families to address the needs of each child and assess how they influence the family dynamic.
