NewYork-Presbyterian, along with its affiliated physicians from Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, collaborates with institutions and their clinical service lines to develop and implement new programs and to evaluate existing services for expansion or improvement. The following initiatives are components of the clinical program development process.
The first step to better understand your institution’s needs and ensure the best method to leverage NewYork-Presbyterian’s resources is a comprehensive assessment of your operations. This assessment is performed by the senior leadership of NewYork-Presbyterian and includes both an observation of the clinical environment and discussion / planning sessions with your organization’s leadership.
NewYork-Presbyterian collaborates with institutions to develop patient care protocols and provider education material. We start by reviewing the standard operating procedures and education material currently available at your center and share our standard operating procedures and education material. Following the reviews, we collaborate to identify opportunities for improvements and co-develop your institution’s new standard operating procedures and education materials.
This activity is the cornerstone of our collaborations to assist in improving the quality of your center. A detailed training plan is developed based on the initial assessment and includes:
NewYork-Presbyterian provides direct, hands-on program development support in order to ensure proper implementation of the new standard operating procedures and to continuously improve quality of clinical operations.
Clinical teams will be directly exposed to NewYork-Presbyterian’s operating environment, which will allow for an accelerated and valuable learning process, particularly for the most complex procedures.
The key component of the process will be periodic visits to your institution by senior NewYork-Presbyterian personnel. The team will assess the collaboration activities and the impact on the quality of care. The assessments provide the leadership opportunities to discuss any adjustments to the collaboration scope and plan.
Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship with your organization and develop effective and efficient clinical programs for the institution.
