Rehab Medicine Residency Application Process

We have eight residency positions per year that are all offered through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

A PGY-1 year (categorical or transitional) is required before beginning in the residency program. Applicants are responsible for obtaining a PGY1 position by applying directly to preliminary year programs.  Because our residency program participates in the advanced year match, we interview at the same time applicants are interviewed for internship.

Our program uses Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) for all of our residency application material. Applications are accepted starting September 1st. We require the following material:

  • Completed Application
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Dean's Letter
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Board Scores

If there is any material that cannot be sent through ERAS, it must be mailed or faxed to:

A personal interview is required and is conducted by invitation only after the application is reviewed. Interviewees can expect to spend a full day in our department and will have the opportunity to meet faculty from both NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, tour our facility, and have lunch with our current residents.
