Trainees interested in joining the NYP Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program must meet the minimum requirements for sub-specialty training, including the completion of one year of internship and either two or three years of general psychiatry residency training. Most residents accepted to the program begin our program at the PGY-IV or PGY-V level of postgraduate training.
The NYP Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program requires a completed application by November 1, 2016 (see below) to be eligible for consideration. International medical graduates are welcome to apply but must provide a copy of their ECFMG certificate in addition to Visa status, along with the other application requirements. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is only able to support foreign nationals on a J1 visa. The program director, associate program director, and program administrators review each application in its entirety. Decisions for interviews are based on that review and availability, so timely submission of application materials is encouraged.
Interviews for selected applicants are conducted from September to December.
