Counseling & Therapy

If you are a survivor of domestic violence, rape or sexual assault, you are not alone.

DOVE licensed social workers and counselors are here to support survivors of sexual and domestic violence, no matter when the violence occurred — today, yesterday or ten years ago.

It is not unusual for survivors and their loved ones to feel unable to return to life as they knew it before the violence. Trauma-related disturbances can linger for weeks, months, or even years, and can include both physical and emotional symptoms, such as headaches, inability to focus, nightmares, flashbacks, difficulties with relationships, shame, and anger, among others.

At DOVE, we specialize in the treatment of trauma-related symptoms following rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.

All DOVE services are confidential, within the confines of the law, and free of charge.

To learn more about our counseling and therapy services, please call: 212-305-9060.

In addition to counseling and talk-therapy, selected clinicians at DOVE offer specialized trauma-treatment, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

To enquire about EMDR treatment at DOVE, please call or email George Lewert, DOVE Program Manager, at 212-305-5130 or gel9002@nyp.org
