Child Life Educator

Child Life Program
Our  Child Life Program provides emotional and psycho-social support to children and families and promotes coping with visits to the emergency room, inpatient hospitalization and illness. Our certified child life specialist works with each child's medical team to advocate for the needs of the entire family, including siblings. The Carolyne E. Czap and Eugene A. Czap Alzheimer's Program at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital offers a full continuum of care for patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Early diagnosis and treatment has been shown to greatly improve quality of life and may significantly slow down the advancement of this disease. Donations to this program will help promote research and development of new and better ways of treating and preventing Alzheimer's disease.

Fred L. Mazzilli Lung Cancer Screening Program

Fred L. Mazzilli Lung Cancer Screening Program
The  Fred L. Mazzilli Lung Cancer Screening Program at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is focused on early detection and treatment of lung cancer. Since lung cancer screenings are not covered by health insurers, NYP Brooklyn Methodist offers free low-dose CT screenings to individuals who meet NLST (National Lung Cancer Screening Trial) criteria.

Your support of the Fred L. Mazzilli Lung Cancer Screening Program will help us to increase accessibility of lung screenings to all people at high risk. Each year NYP Brooklyn Methodist hosts its Lung Cancer Awareness Day which brings the community together to raise awareness to this disease during November, which is national lung cancer month.
