Infusion Center Welcome Ambassador Program

Help deliver a powerful dose of "T.L.C."

Getting a serious medical diagnosis can be overwhelming. Patients often have to work to understand their illness, make decisions about their care, and confront their fear of unfamiliar treatments. Those requiring chemotherapy treatment at the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Infusion Center do not have to go through their first experience alone. Supportive volunteers provide guidance and comfort to promote a positive introduction so that each patient can focus on what matters most: getting better. As a Welcome Ambassador, you will guide first-time chemotherapy patients from the moment they set the appointment to the days following their initial treatment. You will answer questions, provide important information, cheerful conversation, and tangible comforts such as blankets and refreshments on the day of the visit. Welcome Ambassadors help patients feel less anxious and more cared for.

We would love to hear from you if you are: Compassionate, outgoing, able to focus on high-quality service delivery, an effective communicator and active listener, attentive to details

Minimum Commitment: One four-hour shift per week for a minimum of six months.

Times: Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
