United Health Care is offered to eligible employees and their dependents.

Dental care

Guardian Dental Plan is offered to eligible employees and their dependents. Oral health is integral to overall health and this plan provides comprehensive dental coverage.

Vision care

Davis Vision plan is offered to eligible employees and their dependents. Vision is a priority and this plan provides the necessary care.

Life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance benefits

We understand how important financial stability is, we provide this coverage at no cost to employees, and enrollment is automatic.

  • Coverage Amount: 1.5 x your annual salary
  • Maximum Benefit: $750,000

Long-term disability benefits

Eligible employees are offered long-term disability (LTD) coverage at no cost to the employee.

Tuition reimbursement

Our program offers eligible employees reimbursement up to $9,000 per calendar year for NYSNA-represented and non-union employees.

Retirement plan

Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the Hospital's Defined Benefit Plan once eligible (the first of the month following thirty days of employment). Employees also receive a pension benefit upon retirement. To vest (become eligible to receive a benefit from the plan), employees must complete three years of service with NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Optional benefits

Tax-deferred annuities

A tax-deferred annuity (TDA) 403(B),  similar to a 401(K), is an individual personal retirement saving account plan. It is created for the purpose of allowing employees to save additional money for retirement on a pre-tax basis.

Flexdirect/Flexible spending accounts (FSAs)

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital allows employees to set aside dollars on a pre-tax basis to pay for certain expenses related to health care or dependent care. This provides an immediate tax break to cover out-of-pocket health and dependent care expenses.

  • Maximum Health Care Contribution- $2,600
  • Maximum Dependent Care Contribution- $5,000

Commuter savings program

The Commuter Savings Program, offered through WageWorks, offers employees the opportunity to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to cover the cost of public transit expenses. Deductions are taken automatically from the paycheck, which makes the program convenient to use.

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital employees and their immediate families are eligible for membership in NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Federal Credit Union, a federally insured financial institution, offering low-cost loans, savings opportunities, and other convenient services.
