If you have lost or found items, contact Security at one of the numbers listed below.
Security personnel will inventory all articles reported as lost and found and secure them. Security will notify the rightful owner by telephone or mail, if possible. Any unclaimed or unidentified property will be held for 60 days. After that period, the Director of Security will make a decision as to the disposition of the property.
All reports of missing property should be directed to the Security Department. A Security "Incident Report" will be prepared by Security Personnel. Security Personnel will document the name, address, telephone number and/or Patient Medical Record Number of the person reporting the loss. In addition, a description of the missing property and an estimated value will be noted.
If a patient is missing property, patient unit personnel will be responsible for conducting a thorough search for missing property. The Security Office should be informed of the details of the search. Security will furnish a duplicate Incident Report to the Patient Services Department, when requested.
Any patient inquiries concerning financial reimbursement for reported lost or stolen property will be directed to the Patient Relations/Services Department at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center (212-305-5-5904); NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center (212-746-6-4293); or NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital (212-932-4321) after a report has been made to the Security Department.
