The success of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is evidenced by its recognition by national publications and other groups who rank the country's top doctors and healthcare facilities.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report™ evaluates thousands of hospitals located throughout America. This study is widely considered one of the nation's most thorough and reliable measures of medical quality.
For 2016, NewYork-Presbyterian ranks No. 6 on the Honor Roll, which recognizes national excellence in multiple specialties. Only 20 hospitals out of about 5,000 nationwide were included. In addition, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital again earned the top spot among all hospitals in New York state and the New York metro region.
The Honor Roll places us in the company of some of the most prestigious, world-class medical institutions, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital. A member of the Honor Roll of America's Best for 16 consecutive years, this distinction is the most recent indication that NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital — and the care it provides — continues to be among the best in America.
In the 2016 New York magazine "Best Doctors" issue, 282 physicians from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital have been recognized as among the best doctors in the New York metropolitan region.
“This is a remarkable achievement for NewYork-Presbyterian and a testament to the exceptional clinical care and research performed by our physicians every day,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “More than ever, our patients have access to state-of-the-art, compassionate care in a wide array of settings, provided by a growing number of world-class doctors.”
The 282 physicians, representing 61 specialties, listed in New York’s annual “Best Doctors” issue were selected through a peer-nomination process. For the full list of physicians and methodology, visit nymag.com/bestdoctors.
More than 250,000 leading doctors were asked to name the nation's best physicians in various specialties – those "to whom you would send members of your family."
The annual survey is conducted by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and published in America's Top Doctors. In 2014, more physicians from NewYork-Presbyterian were named to America's Top Doctors than from any other hospital in the nation.
The most important criterion for physician selection was excellence in patient care. Other criteria included education, residency, board-certification, fellowships, professional reputation, hospital affiliation, medical school faculty appointment, experience and disciplinary history.
We congratulate all the physicians included in the guide and applaud their efforts to raise the standards of medicine even higher.
